It’s been an amazing year at High Five. Certainly, the number of youth, residents and nonprofits we’ve impacted is greater than ever. And we’re not done. In 2024, we’ll improve and increase educational opportunities for everyone in the valley, whether that be volunteer events to gain experience on professional video productions and have fun, new and exciting workshops, consistent coverage of local government and elections, and so much more.

We love debating our Top 5 favorite things amongst ourselves as a staff, so here are our Top 5 Accomplishments from this year!

• Return of Youth Summer Camp. Students learned the fundamentals of video production and collaboration, all while having a great time!
• Coverage of Vail Town Council elections, including our Video Voter Guide and Candidate Forum in partnership with with the Vail Chamber and Business Association
• Video for Social Media class at Colorado Mountain College. Over six weeks, individuals, nonprofit staff, and business leaders learned how to make the most of video on their social media platforms
• Increased accessibility of government meetings through addition of closed captioning and archiving of proceedings on Archive.org
• Game of the Week. In partnership with Alpine Bank, High Five expanded coverage of schools, sports and genders, all while expanding volunteer opportunities and improving production quality

Colorado Gives Day is the biggest 24-hour giving movement in the state and one of the most successful giving days in the nation.
