Field Trips
Bring your class to High Five Access Media! Our 1 to 3 hour field trips include hands-on activities like studio tours, where students explore our production stage, control room, and equipment. We also offer mini workshops on Mobile Video, Camera Basics, or Editing Basics—perfect for sparking creativity in students. Plus, filming activities like interviewing exercises help develop key skills in journalism, storytelling, and active listening, all while having a blast. Teachers may even learn something new too!
Guest Speakers
Want your students to learn from the pros? We offer presentations like Career Development, guiding students on the steps to become media makers—whether they're interested in journalism, filmmaking, broadcasting, or social media content creation. We also present on Digital Marketing Strategy, offering insights into daily tasks and big-picture goals in the marketing field. This growing career path suits digital natives who value innovation, analysis, and storytelling, and we bring a unique video-first perspective.
On-Site Workshops
Take our Video Production Workshops to gain the skills needed to teach video yourself! You'll learn the basics of video production, from planning to filming to editing, enabling you to create short films or interview videos. We’ve worked with teachers on curriculum development for months or even a year, and we’ll share our curriculum material with you so you can teach your students confidently.
Production Support
We also offer live-streaming support for student-led productions like Battle Mountain High School's band and choir concerts each winter and spring. Students take charge of cameras and direct their own productions, gaining hands-on experience while High Five staff provides backup and troubleshooting. With our guidance, students ensure their work reaches audiences near and far through the power of social media, showcasing their efforts to the community and beyond in a professional, polished way.
Professional Development
Take our Video Production Workshops to gain the skills to teach video yourself! You'll learn the key stages of video production—from planning to filming and editing—so you can create short films or interviews from start to finish. We’ve also collaborated with teachers on curriculum development for months to a year, and we’ll provide our materials for you to use in your own classroom.
Submit Video
If you've created videos in your classes, send them to High Five, and we'll feature them on Channel 5, Live on Five, and our website. This is a great way to showcase your students' hard work to the community. For example, Eagle Valley High School's weekly EVTV episodes highlight various issues in the school and the Vail Valley, giving students a platform to share their perspectives. We’d love to help your class do the same!
