Join Eagle River Coalition and the Colorado River District to learn more about the Shoshone Water Rights Preservation Project and the Eagle River Valley. On behalf of a diverse group of local governments, water entities, and regional organizations, the Colorado River District is working to purchase and permanently protect the water rights associated with hydropower production at the Shoshone Power Plant in Glenwood Canyon. These large and very senior water rights are foundational to water management across the state and provide myriad benefits for the environment, recreation economies, agriculture, and municipal drinking water from Grand County to the state line. Join us on January 14 to learn more about how this $99 million deal will impact the Eagle River watershed and surrounding communities while securing the flows of the Colorado River for future generations.
